Tell us a little about yourself!
  • I was born and raised in a small town in Ireland, lived and worked in Corporate IT in Dublin for about 12 years, and moved to Santa Barbara in 2014. I’ve worked in just about every IT role from helpdesk, to DBA and now vCIO. Outside of work, my wife Tara is a Santa Barbara native and we have 2 kids, Molly (aged 8) and Declan (aged 5). I play rugby with the local team here in Santa Barbara (Grunion RFC) and I love DIY and home projects.

  • Cambodia and the temples of Angkor Wat.

How did you first learn about CIO Solutions?
  • Through a friend of a friend who put me in touch with CIO.
Before working at CIO Solutions, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
  • I’ve done a number of different jobs over the years. I bartended on and off from the age of about 15 to my late 20’s which, as any bartender will tell you, is always very interesting based on the clientele and the type of bar you’re working in. It’s something that I still enjoy and do occasionally! I worked construction for most summers (my dad had a construction company) which probably instilled a love of DIY in relation to home projects.
What is the one food you cannot resist?
  • Ribeye steak.
What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
  • FIOSS® home construction with special focus on insulation of same.
What is your proudest moment at CIO Solutions?
  • Winning the March madness tournament in my first year here despite not knowing the slightest thing about college basketball! (I still don’t know anything about basketball).
