Tell us a little about yourself!
  • So a lot of my time outside of work is spent with my lady Vanessa, coming up on five years with her now. We like to spend a lot of weekends taking trips out of town to be near the beach, go hike, or catch musical events so we hit Los Angeles and San Francisco a lot. I also like to train, most of my friends nowadays are at the strength and conditioning gym I’m a member of. I also enjoy cars and used to hit the autocross events pretty frequently before things shut down. I also have a bunch of pets, three cats, three snakes, two geckos, and my lady has a bunch of pet spiders, couldn’t tell you how many or the species though.

  • I’m from Sacramento California, North Highlands specifically.
How long have you been working at CIO Solutions?
  • Five years
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
  • New Zealand, I’ve always liked Maori culture and I hear the people are generally great to be around. I also would love to just explore the land and hike every day. I also want to visit Eden Park and see at least one professional rugby game in my life.
What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
  • I have always been a fan of Theodore Roosevelt’s The Man in the Arena passage from his Citizenship in a Republic speech: “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
How did you first learn about CIO Solutions?
  • I came into CIO Solutions from a previous company TekTegrity. The two ended up merging. I came into TekTegrity from job searching as I was exiting the Marine Corps, I think through Indeed or LinkedIn.
Before working at CIO Solutions, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
  • Serving in the Marine Corps. While it wasn’t for me as a career, in my short time serving I met people from all over the world, traveled to places I never would’ve visited otherwise, learned about and used technologies I had never touched before, and made a lot of long term connections.
What is the one food you cannot resist?
  • I’m a sucker for Thai food, specifically basil fried rice..
What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
  • So I was quite the pugilist growing up. Father was a boxer, I boxed, moved into mixed martial arts, but I specifically loved Muay Thai. I could talk for days about fighting sports and urge everyone to participate.
What is your proudest moment at CIO Solutions?
  • Moving from the Service side of the house to the Projects side. To me it meant the company has trust in my abilities and my performance has shown that I can handle more work with less supervision. I’m still learning of course, but I always strive to show that confidence was not misplaced.
Which one would you want most – flying cars, robot housekeepers, or moon cities?
  • Moon cities definitely. I would love to be a System Administrator on like Lunar-06. Then again that’s how a lot of horror movies start…
