Tell us a little about yourself!
    • I’m a gentleman rancher, a gaming nerd, a hobbyist sailor, and a tenacious problem solver. My wife, daughter and I moved back to the California’s Central Coast a few years ago to enjoy the unparalleled good climate and be nearer to family and friends.

Where are you from?
    • Santa Cruz, California

How long have you been working at CIO Solutions?
    • About 1 1/2 years

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
    • Kyoto or Tokyo, Japan. I love the traditional and ultra-modern equally.

What’s your favorite famous or inspirational quote?
    • “A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.” – Douglas Adams

How did you first learn about CIO Solutions?
  • The business of some family friends who partner with CIO for their technology needs.

Before working at CIO Solutions, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
  • I was a carny (albeit not a travelling one). My first job was working the games of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, enticing people to try their luck for stuffed animals and inflatable hammers. I was an expert juggler after a few summers, and surprisingly accurate pitcher. Many dollars were lost after I made knocking down metal milk bottles look easy.

What is the one food you cannot resist?
  • Fatty tuna sashimi – otoro, chutoro, toro – they’re all magnificent…

What could you give a 30-minute presentation about with no advance preparation?
  • Woodworking – I spent almost 20 years as a cabinet maker and finish carpenter

What is your proudest moment at CIO Solutions?
  • I’m most proud when I am able to help one of my coworkers learn something new, that they can use again and again throughout their career.

Which one would you want most – flying cars, robot housekeepers, or moon cities?
  • I’ve lived in too many crowded cities, and I’m a major fan of movies like “The Fifth Element” and “Blade Runner” – I’m going with flying cars. But only environmentally-sustainable flying cars, hopefully cold fusion.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe CIO Solutions?
  • Teamwork. Investment. Trust
